LA Cookie Con 2016

We were vendors at the second annual LA Cookie Con this last February 6th and 7th.  Did you miss it?  Because a lot of people did, even though it was the second one and there was a lot more publicity.  If you missed it, you missed out!

Ron Ben Israel was there to lead the demos and talks for the second year in a row.  We also saw Kawaii Sweet Treats and Dara the Bow Girl walking around as well - and they gave demos on how to create some of their delicious desserts.  We even knew that Duff Goldman from Charm City Cakes was there - and we missed him!  Same with Sarah Michelle Gellar, but she missed out on Happy Pantry too, so it's their loss...is what we're telling ourselves...even though it might not terrible true.

It was a two day event and the convention hall was packed with people swarming each vendor looking for samples, merchandise or something delicious to buy and eat later.  The lines were long - and I'm sure that made people a little more surly than they necessarily would have been - but there were a lot of open spaces and areas where one could get away from the crowd - and if they were smart, they should have purchased a VIP badge which would have gotten them into two different areas in the convention hall with even more samples and places to hang out, rest and even get a massage!

We had the Fookie on one side and Whatta Cookie on our other side.  Both had amazing cookies!  The Fookie (which you have to exclaim in a high pitched voice, "What the Fudge is a fookie!?!!?" because that's how they did it whenever someone asked) is half cookie and half fudge.  They gave us two bars to try, and our assistant the first day, Maria, decided to take them both home and eat them all by herself because she's mean.  So we had to buy more the second day.  It was worth it!  Seek out the Fookie - it's delicious!  It was Whatta Cookie's first con - and they were champs - they were also smart and brought a lot of help - so they handled the crowds quite well.  Their cookies were so good!  I tried to buy some, but they insisted I just take a complimentary bag.  They were terribly nice and have delicious cookies!

LA Cookie Con 2015 - Happy Pantry

At the end of January, we were a part of LA Cookie Con.  It was the first annual one, and it was so successful it was demanded they do another!  There wasn't a question about it.

We were thrilled to participate and overwhelmed with the response of positivity (as well as purchases) we received!

It was crazy how many people were there.  Thirteen Apples offered candied apples and had a line that got so long they had to open a secure door whereupon the line went down and wrapped around the block.  It was about 45 minutes to make one's own custom candy apple, but it was worth it!  They were so good!

We debuted our Ms Cupcake Plush at LA Cookie con and promptly sold out.  It was horrible turning people away - one lady said her daughter was going to kill her because they had decided to check out the rest of the convention before coming back...and it was too late. Rest in Peace lady....whom, I believe was being figurative.

We had a special giveaway for certain VIP's who attended the event.  Kris from Umami Holiday was one such VIP - she has a great food blog - don't go there on an empty stomach - and she was nice enough to take a picture of our little swag bag.

Several people took pictures of our booth:

We were in LA Weekly!  We had a lot of eyeballs on our brand.  And speaking of celebrities, which we weren't...

Olivia and Aubrey are starring in an Amazon Prime show called Just Add Magic.  They are incredibly nice and very well spoken young ladies! Their show was developed by our friends Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco (who I worked at Nickelodeon on Fairly Odd Parents and Tuff Puppy with).  We took three pictures with them, and they decided to post the only one where I'm posing like a jerk.

These are our Happy Pantry bottle cap necklaces.  They're adorable.  But that's what we do with Happy Pantry...make things so adorable that your eyes want to break into a smile.

We had a lot of nice reaction to our "No coffee, no talky!" print.  It's something a lot of people could relate to.  Tracey was the inspiration for the coffee face...

Some people, like Jenn Ho, were nice enough to include pictures of our merchandise in their instagram feeds!

There are a lot more photos floating around the internet...but that's all for now from LA Cookie Con.  We can't wait for the next one!

Happy Pantry - LA Cookie Con

LA Cookie Con and Sweets show is on January 25th at the Pasadena Convention Center, and Happy Pantry is thrilled to be a vendor!  There will be chefs, bakers, celebrities and special VIP's wandering the convention hall...but the most important thing is there will be samples...lots and lots of amazing candies and desserts and things to stuff in one's face.  It's a taste bud's dream, and a belt's nightmare.  It should be awesome!!!

Who doesn't have a fascination of desserts and sweets?  Especially the good ol' fashion milk and cookies...or, as some would say, cookies and milk.  It's tasty way to spend the afternoon, or to cap the night before bedtime.

They've already sold out of VIP tickets and regular tickets are going fast - they might even be sold out right now!  If you're not there, you're missing out!  You can still purchase any Happy Pantry merchandise on our website - www.happy-pantry.com - but you'll have to pay dumb ol' shipping...

Happy Pantry is going to LA Cookie Con

We're terribly excited to be going to LA Cookie Con on January 25th!  It's right around the corner and there are a ton of stars and bakers and chefs and exciting people - all who either make amazing desserts or, at least, love them.

Check out - www.lacookiecon.com - it's worth going to and it's only in Pasadena - it's terribly close!

We are debuting our cupcake plushes (I wish we had cookie ones for this show) as well as bringing all our other merchandise.  You can check out our products at www.happy-pantry.com - we're priced to sell!

This is not a plush - but our buttons will be adorned with this illustration!
