Shrek goes Minion again

When the new overlords come, they tend to white wash everything towards their way of looking, doing and thinking.  With Comcast buying Dreamworks, maybe we can expect to see some of this with them?  And why wouldn't they use their most popular property, the minions, to breath some much needed life into the old tired Shrek?

Of course, it's a painful process...and it's a rather painful experience for the ones who have to change.

Doctor Strange.....love!

I grew up with Doctor Strange comics.  My parents were big Kubrick fans, and had the Doctor Strangelove movie on laserdisc - they watched it all the time, although I never actually saw it myself.  But it seemed like I was always hearing about Doctor Strangelove, and thought it was a fun comic book thing, only to find that it was some weirdo black and white movie - a very talky one at that.

With the new Doctor Strange movie out, I thought I'd do a bit of a mash up between the two.

Good Grief, it's Adventure Time

I might be drawing Charlie Brown AND Adventure Time way too much.

This also isn't that good...but I thought it was funny enough...

The 11th doctor is in

I thought this would be a cool picture.  I was inspired by the Doctor Who Fan club that I was sitting near at the Long Beach Comic Con back in September.  They had a Lucy/Tardis Doctor booth that people could take pictures around.

And I've been doing a lot of Peanuts fan art lately - and a lot of Doctor Who fan art...so I had to bring the two of them together.

And even though Matt Smith wasn't my favorite doctor, I keep drawing him...

I'm adding this second one just because Instagram only allows square pictures, so I had to add the white borders so I could post the entire picture.

What if the Death Star was a Tardis?

May the 4th be with you?  I always thought that was lame...a really ridiculous reason to talk about Star Wars...

Plus - the property is so popular, does it really need an extra day for people to celebrate it?

Sure is a lotta blue....

I was walking to work and thought R2Dalek2 and then I had to put it down on paper...or, in this case, on my cintiq screen in Photoshop.

Another day, another dalek

There was a time I was totally into Charlie Brown and the whole Peanuts gang.  I loved the drawings, the comic strip and the cartoon...I couldn't get enough of any of it.  And then I just kind of got tired of the same jokes and the same story lines and I don't know if it was the overall saturation of the brand into everything, but I just wasn't a big fan anymore.

Seeing that the movie was coming out reinvigorated the fan in me.  I was suspicious that they were doing a movie in CG, but the characters translated over quite well.

So recently having Charlie Brown on the brain (figuratively), I seem to be drawing a lot of mashups with them.  My favorite is still Charlie Brown as Pinhead, because his bald head lends itself to it.  But I've recently found a series of drawings that I want to do - and this is the first bit....a hint of what's to come:

I've just laid in the colors, so there are no textures or shading...but I like where it's headed...!
