Freddy's Nightmare...

I did this illustration a few years ago...I thought it would be appropriate to upload it today considering Wes Craven died this morning.

It's crazy how many movies Wes Craven made - and while not all of them were good, he has some everlasting nightmares haunting our imaginations.

Lil' Roarshach

This is an old illustration and one of my first Heebeejeebee characters.  I really liked the character design of Roarshach even though he wasn't that memorable in the movie version of the comic.  Of course the movie, overall, was kind of crap as well...but it didn't keep me from wanting to do my version of Roarshach.

Lil' Wicked Witch

I found a bunch of new brushes for Photoshop and this illustration ended up coming out of that.

I did the background first and the green color reminded me of The Wicked Witch of the West (from the Wizard of Oz, obviously)...so I drew here on the front...and that didn't seem like enough, so I redrew her hand holding a winged monkey.

Happy Pantry Cupcake Bib

We sold out of our Happy Pantry Cupcake Bibs!

We're also dangerously low on our cupcake beanies, so we're going to have to reorder more.  It's great to have that kind of support and that people are liking our Ms Cupcake!

Happy 10th season of Fairly Odd Parents

It's crazy that a cable cartoon has been able to last this long...but that's a testament to the enduring quality of Fairly Odd Parents.  We've had some terrific writers on the show, and insanely talented artists.

When Fairly Odd Parents started, cartoons were only allowed to go 3 seasons...and that's if they were hits.  Even the most popular shows were done after three seasons!  But Spongebob, Dora and Fairly Odd Parents changed all this and were brought back and again and again.

Lossa Star Wars drawings

I've got a few Star Wars drawings to add to my Heebeejeebees characters.  Heebeejeebees are these cute little kid type characters based on some of my favorite entertainment icons.  Most of the original ones were from horror movies, but since starting them, back in 2008 or so, I've moved on to Marvel superheroes and Star Wars villains.

The Lil' Sand Person was first, then Lil' Vader back in 2008.  A few years later I was in a group art show and I wanted to do my version of IG88, one of my favorite bounty hunters...he's almost a 'blink and you miss it' character, but I thought his character design was so cool.  And just this last December I started thinking "Boba Fat" and finished that drawing just this last week.

Pig Goat Banana Cricket Freelance

I had the pleasure of working on the art for the San Diego Comic con poster for Pig Goat Banana Cricket.

Pig Goat is a new show on Nickelodeon, and it looks amazing, so you should check it out.  One of the creators, Dave Cooper, did the original drawing, and I did the digital inking/cleanup.  It's a very involved style with a lot of curves, hatching and thicks and thins.  It was a lot of fun trying to replicate his style in Adobe Illustrator.

I don't know how Dave Cooper does it, but I would go insane trying to draw this...I nearly did just doing the cleanup!

Boba Fat!

The Sarlacc Pit has the best Boba (Fett)

It's finished!

I did the original sketch back in November and did several rounds of cleanup, but never really liked the Sarlacc Pit part.  I did several rounds of drawing and redrawing, but it never came out right.  Then I ran into some freelance work and left this to the side.

I picked it up again this week and redid the line work and redrew the Sarlacc Pit, and suddenly it was something I liked enough to finish.

I've been a big fan of boba since I first drank it's tasty goodness.  At one point there were two boba places within a mile of my work, so I decided I needed to visit one of them every day.

Turns out boba is filled with sugar and starch.  Probably something I should have known, but I was blinded by it's sweet tasty allure.

Years later I still drink boba - but only on occasion - probably one every couple of months?  But who cares about my boba drinking habits?  Stop prying into my personal business!

Anyway - Ever since I connected the dots between boba the drink and Boba the Fett, I've wanted to do a version for my Heebeejeebees series of illustrations.  And once I figured out Boba Fat - and how boba makes you fat, it was a match made in heaven...if heavy handed.
